The Night Life In Brisbane

By Patrick Daniels

The nightclub life in Brisbane is something that we are very proud of. It is located in the Valley and attracts all mixes of gender preference. Nightclubs are usually open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The cover charges can range anywhere from $7 to $25 and all clubs are adamant on the proper ID to enter.

Family: On McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, is home to one of Brisbane's best nightclubs. Family is a four level nightclub that thrills dance fans with two dance floors, four bars, four outstanding themed booths and top of the line sound system. Many elite DJs from around the world has visited this nightclub, including the Stafford Brothers and Baby Gee.

Monastery, Ann Street, Fortitude Valley: After a refurbishment that gives easier access to the bar and more dance space, Monastery is a popular spot and has many regulars. It actually looks like a monastery inside with its iconic plush designs and Gothic lighting. Lucid soundscapes, especially electro house from classy resident and international DJs keep the fans coming back for more.

Fringe Bar: While on Ann Street there is also a groovy 70's place called Fringe Bar. Thursday nights is one of the most popular nights for the younger crowds, as from 8pm until 10pm local city bands perform live, from there the DJ plays some funk house and electro until the wee hours of the morning. If you are look for more of the Top of the Pops era you will want to visit on the weekend instead of Thursday.

Uber, Boundary Street, WestEnd: This is Brisbane's latest club.Uber is cool indeed and has very stylish decor and patrons to match. It is a bit over the top decadent like an old style boutique hotel with brushed steel and polished dark wood. The music varies but weekends are dedicated to pure main room House music. The best thing about the plush cocktail bar is the balcony as it is perched in prime viewing position over the comings and goings of the heart of the West End.

Beat MegaClub: Another Ann Street favorite, this club has five dance floors, six bars and play the music that popular among all dance fans-techno. Although welcoming to all, Beat is very popular among the gay and lesbian crowd and has regular drag performances.
